PORVORIM: Speaker Rajesh Patnekar said a motion congratulating the Centre for repealing Article 370 would be moved in the House.

The issue was raised in the Assembly by MGP MLA ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar, when RS was discussing the resolution in New Delhi.  While Dhavalikar stood to congratulate PM Modi for his “assault on the terrorism activity,” Minister Nilesh Cabral said the motion cannot be discussed as “it was not on the agenda.”

CM Pramod Sawant said the resolution has been just proposed. “We will move the motion congratulating the Centre, later during the current session. That time, everyone can speak on it,” he said.

The Speaker said the motion will be moved “sometime later”.

The CM tweeted, “A historic decision by Modi Sarkar towards unity, integrity and national sovereignty. I congratulate PM Shri @narendramodi ji and HM Shri @AmitShah ji for the bold step. #Article370 #35A”.

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane tweeted, “I bow to our hon’ble  Shri @Amitshah ji for his constant efforts in revoking #Article370. This move will now pave the way for development, progress and most importantly peace in #JammuAndKashmir.”
