PANJIM: There appear to be no signs of the unseasonal rain stopping although there has been a break of a few days in the perennial rain Goans have witnessed recently.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa has predicted that the rainfall and thundershower activity is very likely to increase in the State from November 28 in view of the possibility of change in wind patterns from November 28.

The IMD added that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are very likely at one or two places over Goa from November 29. Furthermore, the IMD has said that the conditions favour light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely for about five days from November 28. If it does rain in the month of December, 2021 will mark the first year where it has rained in all 12 months of the year.

The IMD had however said that 2021 won’t be the wettest year as the State has seen surplus rain of 30-40 per cent in the last two consecutive years.
