MARGAO: Colva police on Sunday registered a case against one doctor from Panjim for driving his car in rash and negligent manner and causing the death of 22-year-old youth Hanumant Harijan from Khareband Margao, native of Gokak, Belgaum.
Colva police said that on September 26 at 09.57 am ASI Socorro Fernandes of Colva police station registered a complaint that on previous night September 25 at around 11.35 pm the accused doctor of Panjim dashed his Innova car against the Maestro scooter of victim Hanumant near the Dando ground Benaulim.
The police said that the doctor drove on the wrong side and dragged the victim for a distance with the impact. Although Hanumant was lifted to the Hospicio Margao, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
An offence has been registered against the doctor under Section 279 and 304 A of IPC.
