Konkan Maritime Cluster to be set up in Goa

PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Monday said that the country’s first Konkan Maritime Cluster for ship designers and marine equipments will be established in the State.

On the occasion of National Martime Day, Sawant tweeted stating, “Today we celebrate the National Maritime Day. To set up India’s first maritime cluster, our government has alloted 14,380 square metres of land to set up a common facility centre for Konkan Maritime Cluster.”

He added, “We aim to create world class facilities for ship designers and builders, repairers and marine equipments manufacturers. This will envisage major employment generation in our State.” 

The proposed common facility centre for Konkan Maritime Cluster will be set up at the Verna industrial estate.
