Panchayats and municipal councils on Tuesday have decided to impose a week-long partial lockdown voluntarily, to contain the continuous surge in COVID cases and the spike in deaths causing under their jurisdiction areas. Likening the State called lockdown for three days, all the local bodies claim to be stricter vigilant on the respective SOPs and has ruled some long-lasting penalty for the violators.
During this period, only the shops dealing with essential commodities will be allowed operate that too for a stipulated period of time, decided independently by every local governing body. The relaxation too differ from one area to others but pre-monsoon works and urgent development works by the government authorities or panchayat will be allowed beyond restricted timing across all lockdown areas.
SIOLIM SODIEM VILLAGE PANCHAYAT:

The Siolim Sodiem village panchayat on Tuesday called for a
12-day lockdown from. Shops/establishments failing to comply with the norms
would suffer suspension of license for 6 months and a fine of Rs1000.
CUNCOLIM MUNICIPAL COUNCIL :

Cuncolim Municipal Council (CMC) has announced a one-week
partial lockout in the municipal area responding demand made by Cuncolim
Traders Association for total lockdown for the week. Petrol pumps, banks,
pharmacies and government offices are excluded from the lockdown.
GUIRDOLIM PANCHAYAT:

Guirdolim panchayat mandal announced a partial lockdown in
the panchayat area and asked to follow guidelines and restrictions seriously,
failing which strict action will be initiated. Notice of the restriction issued
by panchayat secretary also asked banks and postal staff to refrain from doing
any business during evening session.
NACHINOLA VILLAGE PANCHAYAT:

The Nachinola village panchayat on Tuesday imposed an 8-day
voluntary lockdown in the entire village.
While shops dealing with essential commodities will be
allowed to operate between 6am to 12 pm, on-going house repair works will be
allowed subject to permission from the local body. Banks and postal services
are allowed to serve the public till 12 noon. The government, semi –government
and private firms employees will be allowed to exit and enter into the village
on displaying of identity cards.
BICHOLIM MUNICIPAL COUNCIL :

The Bicholim Municipal council and the merchants from
Bicholim have decided to observe five days complete lockdown in Bicholim.
Banks, pharmacy and petrol pumps will remain open during this time.
MANDREM VILLAGE PANCHAYAT:

Mandrem village panchayat has issued public notice informing
that all restaurants, hotels, bars, coffee shops, canteens, eatery shops,
mobile carts, garments, hardware shops, haircutting spa, gym, beauty parlor,
tobacco shops and other shops dealing with non-essential in the village
jurisdiction will remain shut till May 9.
ASSNORA VILLAGE PANCHAYAT:

The Assnora village panchayat on Tuesday imposed a 10-day
voluntary lockdown in the entire village, with restricted timings for public
movement in the village jurisdiction. The panchayat asked banks to serve the
public till 2pm while postal service till 12pm
PONDA MUNCIPAL
COUNCIL (PMC):

The Ponda Muncipal Council (PMC) as well as some big
Panchayats like Curti Khandepar, Veling Priol Cuncoliem in Ponda Taluka today
appealed the vendors, shopkeepers in their jurisdiction to keep their shops
closed from 5 May to 9 May so as to break down the chain of COVID spreading
rapidly in Ponda Taluka. Grocery shops, milk, vegetable will remain open
according to information provided by this local bodies. The Pondaitees felt
that earlier three days lockdown was not sufficient and as part of extension to
three days lockdown the weeklong lockdown was declared today.
The Curti Khandepar Panchayat and Veling Priol Cuncoliem
Panchayat issued public notice informing that it will go for lockdown from 10am
of May 5 to 7am of May 10.
MOIRA AND UCCASAIM PALIEM PUNOLA VILLAGE PANCHAYAT:

village panchayat on Tuesday imposed a 7-day voluntary lockdown in the entire
village.

Courier services and delivery services will be allowed to
operate till 6 pm. Private security services serving the village will be
allowed to operate beyond restricted timing.
CHINCHINIM AND CAVELOSSIM VILLAGE PANCHAYATS:

The Carmona village panchayat has declared a lockdown for 15
days under Section 60/2 of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act to protect and safeguard
the health and lives of the people of the village from COVID-19.
VARCA VILLAGE
PANCHAYAT:

Salcete coastal panchayat namely Varca village panchayat on
Tuesday announced to have a four-day ‘total lockdown’ from Thursday. Varca
village panchayat has taken a resolution to write to the Deputy Collector
requesting her to instruct the Fire and Emergency Services to sanitise all the
grocery shops and the residencies of the COVID-19 patients.
