MARGAO: Goencho Avaaz on Saturday warned soon they will be exposing Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, Cuncolim MLA Clafasio Dias and Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho with regard to the conversion of land and destruction of Goa.
The GA alleged Clafasio and Mauvin, both are involved in the hill cutting incident reported at Paroda in Salcete.
Briefing the media persons, here, Captain Viriato Fernandes, State GA convenor, along with Vice-President Rohan Matias, Gabriel Fernandes of Paroda, and others said that there is a big conspiracy with regard to hill-cutting at Paroda and local MLA is fully involved in the destruction of environment.
“An in-depth investigation by Goencho Avaaz into the illegal Paroda hill-cutting undertaken under the patronage of Cuncolim MLA Clafasio Dias revealed a shocking cross-connection between MLAs and ministers. The collaboration did not extend only to executing illegal activities, but also in threatening officials who try to put a stop to the illegalities,” he alleged.
He stated fortunately the report that has been received from the Collector's office clearly brings out the massive hill cutting and nails the lies of the MLA who had denied the illegality.
“The secretary of the village panchayat transferred and even the sarpanch had to face no-confidence motion, as they had rightly pointed out that the illegal hill cutting has done at Paroda," he stated.
Captain Viriato said, “There is a connection between the two destroyers of Mormugao Taluka as well as Cuncolim.”
“A senior police officer is also involved in pressurising his juniors officer to take action against the Gabriel Fernandes, and thereafter Tiatrist Alison de Curtorim for criticising the MLA,” he further alleged.
He stated Clafasio, as Chairman of Mormugao Planning Development Authority in connivance with the Panchayat Minister turned lakhs of square metres in Mormugao Taluka into a Settlement Zone, leading to the concretisation of Mormugao.
GA State convenor alleged that the Chief Minister is fully involved in the incident of attack on social-activist at Sancoale. "Will expose Chief Minister in coming days with the evidence with regard to land conversion in the State, leading to the destruction of the State," he stated.
Roshan said, “The GA will see to it that the hill is restored to its original form at Paroda.”
