Lawyer, murderously assaulted by Porvorim cops, has his broken jaw fixed with wires

PANJIM: Adv Gajanan Sawant took up a career in law to facilitate the long arm of the law and be its protector. Today he is a victim, lying on a hospital bed, assaulted by the wrong arm of the law

The family of Adv Sawant has informed that because of the kicks to his face his jaw has fractured. 

The jaw has been fixed through a procedure or maxillomandibular fixation with wires. 

Adv Sawant, according to a member of the medical fraternity, will take at least six to eight weeks for the fracture to cure.

He  has been kept under observation on Friday., In addition to the jaw injury, Adv Sawant is suffering from swelling in his head due to the assault on his head with a wooden plank. Doctors said that he will have to go through a neuro examination and treatment for the next several months. The family also informed that the police went to the hospital to record a statement in the middle of the night at 1.30 am.
