Locals oppose mobile tower at Curtorim

MARGAO: The proposal to erect a mobile tower in Curtorim met with stiff opposition from the locals on Sunday.

People assembled outside the Virabhat Chapel, at Curtorim on Sunday morning to oppose the mobile tower coming up at the government school ground. Villagers opined that this is a residential area and it was not a proper place to set up the tower and added that the work had commenced by keeping the locals in the dark.

“We will approach the panchayat and call for a gram sabha to oppose the project,” said the villagers.
