PANJIM: To keep a strict vigil during the enforcement of the mode code of conduct, DGP Pranab Nanda along with the DIG Parmaditya reviewed the security arrangements at the border check posts and directed necessary improvements.

“DGP and I today reviewed the border check posts and the DGP has directed the necessary improvements including lighting, CCTV cameras, etc,” said DIG. He added that special teams have been formed to improve action against violations during the enforcement of the code of conduct, wherin flying squads have been deployed.

He further stated that interstate coordination meetings have been held and work has been reviewed. 

He stated that as part of preventive actions, troublemakers have been identified and they are under the watch of the special teams. He said “More than 100 persons have been identified and it is an exercise that will continue. Further licensed arms deposition has been completed and we are keeping a watch for any illegal weapons.”

He also added the Excise Department has been entrusted to keep a track of the liquor sales. “Teams will tie up with the Excise Department and monitoring sale pattern. As for the interstate border liquor trade is concerned, we have asked the department to keep a track of the outgoing liquor”, he added.

DIG Parmaditya also informed that sensitive areas  have been identified and necessary precautions and police action will be carried out.
