PONDA:  The Maharashtrawadi Gomatak Party (MGP) on Saturday commenced its campaign for 2022 Assembly elections by offering coconut to Goddess Mahalsa, at Mardol, to seek her blessings.

MGP President Deepak Dhavalikar, Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar, Jeet Arolkar and party office bearers and supporters from across Goa were present.

Sudin announced that from Saturday onwards the party would commence door-to-door campaign for 2022 Assembly elections.

He said, “The people were happy during MGP’s 17-year rule and MGP will ask voters compare its rule with Congress and BJP and decide on whom to elect.”

He urged the voters to bring “parivartan” in Goa to protect the State’s interest and accused the current politicians of ruining the future of Goa and for failing to deliver on all fronts.

“The government has failed to deliver on the employment front and is working for vested interest. It failed to protect Mhadei and now is promoting coal against the interest of Goa,” he charged.

He said, “The MGP has started its activities in 18 Assembly seats in Goa and in future if we get better candidate the party will think on contesting more Assembly seats. MGP will definitely take a decision within the next few months on alliance with likeminded parties.”
