MAPUSA: Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte on Saturday blamed the State government for large-scale mismanagement of COVID-19 in the State, resulting to loss of many Goan lives.
“I have been vocal in giving my suggestions but when 74 people died due to lack of oxygen supply is something not acceptable. The government will have to take the entire responsibility. Things were streamlined only when the High Court intervened, this shows that the State government does not have any vision or intellectual thoughts,” said Khaunte.
Pointing out that the State government have stopped providing oxygen to people under home isolation, Khaunte said, “I demand that the Chief Minister should streamline the administration. The recent decision allowing refilling of oxygen cylinders with the doctors’ prescription has led to a situation where the patients who are at home are gasping for breathe.”
“Many patients with less oxygen level have also been discharged from the hospitals due to scarcity of beds. Have the government thought on where these patients will go? The person who is already in trauma is getting more traumatised,” Khaunte added.
