MLA lashes out at govt for passing ‘suspicious’ bills

PANJIM: Independent MLA Prasad Gaonkar from Sanguem has lashed out at the State government for trying to push in Bills that could have far-reaching consequences, which could create problems for the local population.  He gave the example of the controversial Goa Bhumiputra Adhikari 2021 bill and questioned the ulterior motive off the Government behind it.

Gaonkar questioned why the government chose to have only a three-day Assembly session as opposed to a longer period where there could have been a better discussion on such ‘suspicious’ bills that were passed. He added that instead, issues that were important to Goans were not given adequate weightage and were sidetracked.
