VASCO: The Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Chairperson Deepak Naik on Tuesday warned that if the coal pollution level in Vasco doesn’t decrease within two months time, then, he along with the people would come out on streets and block coal transportation through Vasco.

“Firstly, I want to reiterate that MMC has already taken a stand against coal. We have made it very clear that we don’t want coal in Vasco and therefore we had even adopted a resolution in the past during to stop coal transportation through the city roads,” Naik said.

“I demand that the MPT should now take fresh readings for two months (October to November) and if the readings show normal, then, we have no problems,” he said.
