MMC ordered to submit original document sought by Fomento in court
MARGAO: The Principal Sessions judge in Margao on Tuesday ordered the Margao Municipal Council (MMC) to submit in court, within three days, the original document requested by Fomento relating to Sonsoddo project.
The order was issued following submission by the lawyer representing the municipality that the document requested by Fomento had some elements missing. He also submitted that the document may contain error, typographical or otherwise.
The document pertains to the demand raised by the Fomento of Rs 14 crore to close operations and leave the plant.
Meanwhile, the Court has also sought the minutes of the High Power Committee meetings held till date.
The Court will write to the Goa State Pollution Control Board to submit the report of garbage testing that was sought earlier. The case will be heard on February 6. The earlier arrangement of Rs 1 lakh per day continues.
