MARGAO: The Margao Municipal Council has urged the Margao Town Police to crack a whip on the migrants loitering outside the municipal gardens and other public places creating nuisance.
In a letter to the Police Inspector of Margao Town Police Station Chief Officer Agnelo Fernandes on Friday stated that several migrants are seen loitering, besides spitting, dirtying the municipal garden, which has become an eyesore.
“Every morning there is a gathering of lots of migrants by the side of the municipal building, who are also seen sitting on the municipal square,” he stated.
The MMC has requested the police to drive them away from the municipal square surrounding the municipal building, which depicts the bad image of municipality.
The Chief Officer has also cautioned the police that due to the loitering of migrants there is every possibility of murder and other anti-social activities.
