MPA to expedite port connectivity work

Vasco MLA Krishna ‘Daji’ Salkar said that he sought to know the reasons for the delay in completing the project.

VASCO: A joint meeting convened by the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) on Tuesday decided to expedite the work to complete the port connectivity project by March next year.

Vasco MLA Krishna ‘Daji’ Salkar and officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), PWD and Gammon India attended the meeting convened by MPA Chairman Venkata Ramana Akkaraju.

The meeting mainly discussed completing the four-lane flyover port connectivity project. Though the four-lane flyover bridge between Verna and Sada has been completed and opened for traffic, the flyover connecting the port was pending and yet to be completed.

After the meeting, Salkar said that the port connectivity project will be completed by March next year. 

He said that the joint meeting took stock of the progress of ongoing works for the bridge connecting the port and the port town. 

During the meeting, the consultant made a power-point presentation about the completed works and the road map for the completion of the project. 

Salkar said that he sought to know the reasons for the delay in completing the project.
