PERNEM: Several persons from neighbouring Maharashtra, who travel daily to Goa to their respective workplace, were denied entry at the Patradevi check post on Thursday after they failed to produce COVID negative certificates.
It may be recalled that the High Court had directed the State government to make COVID negative certificate mandatory for those entering the State.
The Pernem Police deployed at the checkpost on Thursday denied entry to several people as they failed to produce the COVID negative certificate and were forced to return home.
Those who were denied entry said, “How can we produce COVID negative certificate each day as we travel daily. The government should conduct thermal screening instead of asking for COVID negative certificate. By denying entry the authorities are depriving us of our livelihood”.
