Mahila Cong promotes ‘hardworking’ members

PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress (GPMC) has revived its committee by promoting the ‘hardworking’ workers and sidelining the ‘inactive’ ones, ahead of the upcoming by-elections in Shiroda and Mandrem constituencies and the Lok Sabha polls. 

“We have promoted the hardworking workers in our committee and kept aside at least 15 inactive workers,” committee president Pratima Coutinho said on Tuesday.

The committee approved by All India Mahila Congress president Sushmita Dev has six vice presidents in Beena Naik, Nilima Mazumdar, Renuka Desai, Shanti Mandrekar, Zariina Shah and Filomena D’Souza Vaz; treasurer Lalan Parsekar, nine general secretaries, six secretaries, four joint secretaries and 16 members. The committee’s social media team will be headed by Pratibha Borkar. AIMC also approved the names of district presidents and block presidents among other office bearers, Coutinho said.
