PONDA: A milk supplying tempo overturned near the bus stop at Querim-Savoi Verem on Tuesday. 

According eyewitnesses, the vehicle overturned and crashed into a roadside house while negotiating a turn near the bus stop. Witnesses said that the house was severely damaged in the incident.

Meanwhile, the house owner Pushpashil Gaude who had just then arrived at the spot suffered minor injuries after he was hit by the tempo. He was discharged after treatment at the Ponda Sub District Hospital.

Locals allege that the tempo driver was drunk and fled from the scene immediately after the accident.

Ponda police conducted panchanama of the accident, but have not registered an offence, so far.
