VASCO: The residents of Mangor containment zone have threatened to launch a chain hunger strike on Monday morning if the government fails to fulfil their demands.

Councillor Saifullah Khan claimed that the government authorities have neglected the residents of the Mangor containment zone and this has forced the locals to opt for the chain hunger strike on Monday.

In a video circulated on social media, Khan said the government authorities are not seriously paying attention to the demands of the Mangor containment zone residents and their grievances.

“I feel we are being neglected by the government and this has forced us to opt for chain hunger strike on Monday,” he said.

The people from the Mangor containment zone will be forced to go on an indefinite hunger strike if the government does not fulfil their demands, Khan warned.

The councillor said that even after two months, the situation in the containment zone is the same and their demands have not been considered by the government authorities.

Khan said he had a discussion with all residents in the area wherein they have decided to go on an indefinite hunger strike from Monday.

Khan requested the government to solve their issues immediately.
