Parking problem in Margao needs to be sorted

MARGAO: While admitting that parking is a problem in Margao, MLA Digambar Kamat lamented that the Margao Municipal Council has been sitting tight on the Rs. 3 crore grant it had received in 2011 as the Golden Jubilee grant.

He said all these years that amount has probably remained in the bank with the council just earning interest on it without it being used to create any asset to be identified with the golden jubilee of Goa’s liberation.

“Two years back the MMC decided to utilize that fund for a multi level parking lot at the old fish market which is even now languishing,” he said.
