Meet on danger posing trees held  at Mormugao

VASCO: Deputy Collector of Mormugao held a joint meeting with the multi-departmental officers to discuss and identify the safety issues related to tree falls, danger posing trees in the port town, on Friday. 

According to Deputy Collector Mormugao Dattaraj Dessai, GOACAN along with various departmental officers such as Assistant Engineers of Electricity Department, Fire Department, Block Development Officer, Mormugao Municipal Council Chairperson and others were called to identify and discuss about the issues pertaining to safety of the people against trees which are posing danger or may be on the verge of collapsing.

Dessai said that the meeting was to decide and identify the overgrown, danger posing trees in the municipal and village panchayat areas. Efforts are being put to ensure people’s safety and to avoid any untoward accidents, damage to the life and property which happens due to uprooting, falling of trees on the electricity poles, wires, structures and also on the persons. 

Dessai also mentioned that GOACAN was instrumental in having this meeting and took interest in addressing the issue.
