PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party on Monday demanded that the Health Minister make public through a health bulletin the availability of beds in private and public hospitals for COVID-19 patients in view of the increasing number of cases and growing complaints from people of non availability of beds.

AAP Goa Convenor Rahul Mhambre said, “It pains to see the Chief Minister being more interested in politics by canvassing for candidates in Mapusa and Margao Municipal Councils elections rather than being concerned about people’s health and having meetings with health officials to deal with the situation especially since he belongs to the medical fraternity.”

In prevailing situation in the State, Rahul said only God can save Goa and asked people to wear masks at all time and avoid visiting crowded places especially the election meetings being addressed by the Chief Minister.

Rahul demanded that the Chief Minister every day announces the stock of medical oxygen, availability of Remdesivir and COVID vaccines and thanked the Kerala government for providing Goa with liquid oxygen to deal with the situation.

He regretted that even though Maharashtra has declared Goa to be a place for sensitive origin of COVID, the Chief Minister is still not insisting on COVID negative certificate from people coming to Goa and the State government’s approach appears lackadaisical when compared with some other States that have curbed visits from outside their State.
