PANJIM: Following a series of dengue cases reported across the State, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has issued instructions to the Health Department and Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) to carry out fogging around various educational institutions where mosquitoes breed.

Rane in a statement said that a review meeting under the Health Secretary was held last week, wherein various measures were discussed to overcome the issue pertaining to malaria and dengue. He said that the process of fogging will be taken up with the support of the Directorate of Panchayat and Municipal Administration, wherever required.

“This will help to eradicate such diseases. Government is very much serious as far as cases of dengue in the State are concerned,” he said.

The Minister has appealed to the public to avoid dengue by preventing mosquito bites and control mosquitoes inside and outside the houses and other places.
