PERNEM: Vinita Shirodkar, the recently crowned Miss Deaf India, and who secured the fourth position at Miss World Pageant held in Africa, is aspiring to secure a government job to support her mother. Vinita’s mother is running a small cart and works tirelessly till late night preparing and selling various food items. 

Despite facing adversity after the sudden loss of her husband, Vinita’s mother remains committed to educating her children. The same spirit has kept Vinita on her feet. After being born deaf, Vinita defied the odds to excel in education and represent India at the Miss World Pageant in Africa where she secured the fourth position.

Vinita has recognised her family’s challenges, and hence is eager to secure a government job and support her mother and her siblings. Vinita believes that she has all the skills and determination to contribute positively to society. Vinita did her schooling in Sanjay School and later completed a computer course. She wishes to work for the society and also help the special children achieve their dreams.

Vinita’s mother has also echoed her daughter’s willingness to serve with the government. Vinita has the potential and this will also enable the family to meet their needs and help Vinita’s siblings complete their education, she said.
