PONDA: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant along with PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar, local Zilla Panchayat member Suvarna Tendulkar and Principal Chief Conservator Subashchandra inaugurated the Mollem Biodiversity Park, spread in around 38 hectares, on Friday. 

Speaking on the occasion, Sawant said, “This will not only conserve biodiversity but also promote hinterland tourism, at the same time will provide employment to people residing near forest areas.” 

He said, “Goa is rich not in sun and sand and beach but also in rich biodiversity.” The Chief Minister appreciated the officials’ vision for formation of the park with medicinal plants, butterfly garden and water bodies. 

PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar said, “Dharbandora Taluka has lot of rich natural tourist spots which includes Dudhsagar Falls, Tambdi Surla Temple, Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary and now biodiversity park. These would promote tourism in the taluka.”
