MAPUSA: Bardez Deputy Collector Kapil Phadte on Friday issued show cause notices to more nine bar and restaurants and shacks for noise pollution. Initially, 19 bars and restaurants and clubs were issued show cause notices on February 12.
The nine restaurants, shacks, clubs whom the notice is issued are Mahe, a coastal cuisine bar and Restaurant at Anjuna; Larive Shack, Ozran-Vagator; Pinakkin Beach Café Vagator, Barracks Candolim, Barrel Yan Tree Candolim, Chronicles Restaurant, Ozran-Anjuna, Club Bliss Goa, Candolim; Larive Beach Shack, Vagator and Rock Forest Guest House, Calangute.
Earlier, the bar and restaurants and clubs who were issued show cause were only from Anjuna village jurisdiction. However, this time few restaurants, shacks, clubs from Calangute and Candolim are also included.
The action was initiated after villagers of coastal villages approached the Deputy Collector and complained against noise pollution created due to loud music parties that play beyond limit till late night and sometimes up to next day morning.
In the show cause notice, the Bardez Deputy Collector has asked the establishments why action should not be initiated against them for violation of the Noise Pollution And (Control) Rules 2000.
