Morjim locals form human chain to fill water from tankers

MAPUSA: Residents of Gawdewada, Morjim were compelled to form a human chain to fill water from the tankers on Wednesday. 

The residents claimed that they were forced to take this step as for the last three days they have not received a single drop of water.

With the PWD failing to provide the residents with water for the third consecutive day, the residents of Gawdewada approached the local MLA who managed to send a water tanker. The residents slammed the PWD for failing provide them with water for the third consecutive day. 

“The government is talking about providing free water but we want to tell the Chief Minister that we don’t want free water. We are ready to pay the water bills as usual. We want regular water at least for two hours a day”, a consumer said.
