PANJIM: In all 26 nominations have been received till date for the March 20 municipal elections to be held across 11 municipalities. On Saturday, 17 candidates filed their nominations. 

Even on day three of the filing of nominations, the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) saw no candidates, even as Atanasio Monserrate has announced his panel. 

The filing of nominations for municipal areas and CCP commenced from Thursday. The last date for nomination filing is March 4. 

Of the total 26 nominations, 19 have been filed in South Goa while seven are in North. So far, six nominations have been filed from Quepem Municipal Council followed by five in Cuncolim, four each from Mormugao and Mapusa, two each in Valpoi and Canacona, while Bicholim, Margao and Curchorem have one nomination so far. 

No nominations have been filed in Sanguem and Pernem till now. 

The pending bye-elections to 22 different wards of panchayats saw four nominations so far and all are from Veling-Priol. 

No nominations have been filed for Navelim Zilla Panchayat constituency and also to Ward 9 of Sanquelim municipality, which also go for polls on March 20. 

Scrutiny of applications will take place on March 5, while withdrawal of candidature will be allowed on March 6. 

Counting of votes for all municipalities will take place on March 22.
