PANJIM: The North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA) has recommended to consider 1.5 meter setback for existing structures in the Candolim-Calangute Outline Development Plan.

The NGPDA meeting held today also decided to approve the ropeway project from Campal to Reis Magos.

“For the old existing structures in Calangute Candolim, which are on the ODP we have recommended to the Town and Country Planning Board to consider the setback of 0-1.5 meters,” NGPDA chairman Michael Lobo told Herald.

He said that for the new structures the setback will be 3 meters.

“We have asked the TCP Board to amend their set of rules. The TCP will now frame new rules,” he said.

About the ropeway project, Lobo said, the NGPDA has approved the project.

“Normally we approve project of 20 meter height but in this case as special case we have approved 40 meters height,” he said adding “we have sent the recommendation to TCP Board and they will have to approve it.”

Also, the NGPDA chairman said, “we have given a 150 FAR for the recreation centre for the ropeway at Campal as they need the same for basement parking etc.”

He said that the NGPDA has also approved the land use map for Arpora-Nagoa and Parra.
