PANJIM: The Union Government has re-appointed Atmaram Nadkarni as the Additional Solicitor General of India in the Supreme Court for a period of one year till May 2020. 

Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions in an order issued on May 14, has re-appointed Nadkarni as Additional Solicitor General based on the approval of Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. 

The appointment is for a period from May 10, 2019 to June 30, 2020 or until further orders. 

Nadkarni, former State Advocate General, was promoted to the Additional Solicitor General post in May 2016. The appointment came when late Manohar Parrikar was the Defence Minister. 

Nadkarni has been defending Goa’s side before the Mhadei Water Dispute Tribunal so also in several matters including mining in the Supreme Court.
