MARGAO: Former Chief Minister and Navelim MLA Luizinho Faleiro have asked the village panchayats in his constituency decide for themselves if they want to have a lockdown in view of the increasing number of COVID infections in the State.
In separate letters to the Sarpanchas of the village panchayats he said they were free to decide upon a lockdown or a partial lockdown provided it does not affect the normal life of the people and they are not put to any hardships.
He also appealed to all the five panchayat to ensure that the pre monsoon works are not affected in the village and people do not suffer when the monsoons start.
Luizinho also asked the sarpanchas to consider his proposal of having multiple vaccination centres in the panchayat areas so that maximum number of people will be vaccinated.
