MARGAO: Sanguem Mamlatdar administered the oath of office to members of the new managing committee headed by Manjunath Shrinivas Pai Dukle of the Shree Ramnath Devasthan Saunsthan in Zambaulim.

Pursuant to directions issued by the High Court to the Sanguem Mamlatdar to declare the results of the elections held to elect the new managing committee of the Shree Ramnath Devasthan Saunsthan in Zambaulim, Manjunath Shrinivas Pai Dukle was declared as the winner of the elections for the President’s post.

Vijayanand Hegde was elected as the Secretary of the new managing committee, while Saish Govind Hegde was elected as the Attorney and Ganadhish Ramanand Shenvi Kunde as the New Treasurer.

The substitute committee elected comprised Amey Ashok Shenvi Bhobe (president), Gajanan Padmanabh Shenvi Kunde (secretary), Atish Arun Pai Dukle (attorney) and Pratab (Rahul) Laxmikant Prabhu Khope as treasurer, who took the oath in the office of Sanguem Mamlatdar in his presence.

The sources in the Sanguem Mamlatdar's office said that oath was given to all the elected members and a letter was given to the newly elected president Dukle to take charge of the office.

A new managing committee headed by Manjunath Shrinivas Pai Dukle of the Shree Ramnath Devasthan Saunsthan in Zambaulim visited later the office of Saunsthan in Zambaulim and took the charge of the old committee.

It may be recalled that the election was earlier scheduled on March 13 this year and rescheduled on March 20 but the results were not declared as some of the Mahazans filed a writ petition challenging the decision of the managing committee to delete the names of 2352 Mahazans out of a total of 3084 including the petitioners from the list of capable Mahazans entitled to vote to elect the new managing committee.

By an interim order, the Court had allowed elections but had directed the Sanguem Mamlatdar/Administrator of Devalaya to maintain separate ballot boxes. Accordingly, votes were counted in the office of Sanguem mamlatdar in his presence in which a Panel headed by Manjunath Shrinivas Pai Dukle was declared elected.
