PANJIM: There is no chance for defected MLAs getting any Diwali gift as Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday ruled out cabinet reshuffle for the time-being.
When asked when he would do cabinet rejig, Sawant nodded his head in negative.
Earlier, in April this year, Sawant had hinted that he would effect cabinet reshuffle before the Karnataka Assembly elections held on May 10, in order to induct some of the former eight Congress MLAs, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in September last year.
However, there is still immense speculation in the State over the fate of eight rebel Congress legislators, who defected to the BJP.
The Opposition has already demanded that the Chief Minister should induct three women legislators in his 12 Member male dominated cabinet to prove his seriousness about the Women’s Reservation Bill.
