Nobody in Goa will face any issue if CAA is implemented in the state: CM

MAPUSA: Speaking at a function in Parra, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, hit at out at the detractors of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

“At present, people are having different views and are talking in different ways about CAA. Also there some who are putting different thoughts about CAA in the minds of the people. People are scared saying that Muslims will lose their citizenship, that Muslim and Catholics will face problem in Goa and that people will have problems with their passport and citizenship,” said Sawant.

“On behalf of the State, I assure the people of Goa that even if the Act is implemented, nobody in Goa will face any issue based on their religion and this Act shouldn’t be anybody’s concern,” he stated, while further adding that irrespective of religion, caste and creed, Goa is the only State that follows the Uniform Civil Code.
