Vasco: The return journey of the famous Hindi movie 'Bombay to Goa' was played out in real life as some of the most well-known names of contemporary Bollywood had to cut short their Goa shoots and holidays and return to join drug-related investigations linked to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Deepika Padukone accompanied by his actor husband Ranveer Singh flew back to Mumbai late on Thursday evening.

She is slated to appear before the NCB in Mumbai in connection with a drugs case on Saturday.

Earlier, actor Sara Ali Khan who was spending some quality family time with her brother and mother Amrita Singh also left Goa on Thursday afternoon.

The 'Padmavati' actor boarded a  private charter aircraft which arrived from Bangalore at 6.45pm at Dabolim airport. Deepika along with her husband Ranvir Singh reached the airport 7.50pm.

Deepika appeared on the NCB radar during the grilling of Jaya Saha talent manager of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput alleged suicide case. The actor reportedly spoke to lawyers and her husband over a video call to discuss this matter.

As per the media reports Deepika was on a shooting schedule in Goa for Shakun Batra's unnamed film starring 'Gullyboy' fame, Siddhant Chaturvedi and actress Ananya Pandey.

On Thursday morning, national and the local media were continuously following the movement of Deepika. As per the sources she was staying in a top resort in Sinquerim. A black SUV car left from the hotel and the national news channel tailed the car to know the movement of the actress. 

According to sources the actor was to fly back to Mumbai at around 12.30 pm in a private aircraft which later was cancelled. Then there were rumours that the actor will travel by road to Mumbai or via Chipi airport in Sindhudurga. Media persons, CISF, local police staff were stationed at the Dabolim airport since morning. 

Meanwhile on Thursday afternoon another actor Sara Ali Khan also tried to leave quietly through the Dabolim airport, but the local media personnel spotted her in a track suit and asked her remove the mask she was wearing for photographs which she sportingly agreed. 

Meanwhile, statements of fashion designer Simone Khambatta and Shruti Modi, Rajput's former manager, were recorded by the NCB probe team in connection with the drugs case, the official said.
