PANJIM: Following public pressure, Goa Forward Party, an alliance member of the ruling dispensation, said it has demanded a comprehensive discussion on coal and river nationalisation issue.

In a tweet, Goa Forward president and Minister for Town and Country Planning, Vijai Sardesai said, “Have spoken to hon Chief Minister @manohar parrikar that we @goaforweardparty want that the contentious issues of #coal & #rivers be comprehensively discussed in the ongoing session of #goalegislative assembly.”

Speaking to Herald, Sardesai said, justice has to be done to the issues. “In the past I was the one who raised these issues and if given a chance would also like to put forth my views,” he said.

Being in the ruling and all of Goa Forward members being ministers, he continued, “Goa Forward does not get a chance to raise any issue but we can join in discussion.” Sardesai said he has asked the Chief Minister, who is the leader of the House, to hold a 30 minute discussion.
