PANJIM: The old and new bridges across the River Mandovi between Panjim and Porvorim will be closed on Saturday, December 9, between 6am and 9am, for vehicular movement.
The Executive Engineer of Division-XXVIII (Bridges) PWD, Incharge of Highway stretch for NH-66 issued an order informing the closure of the old and new Mandovi bridges to carry out their maintenance on Saturday, December 9, 2023 for three hours. During closure of old Mandovi bridge the light vehicles will be diverted via new Mandovi bridge (both ways) and during closure of new Mandovi bridge light traffic will be diverted via old Mandovi bridge (both ways). Heavy traffic will be diverted to Atal Setu (both ways) throughout the entirety of the closure period.
The order further stated that the work of recording deck levels of the old and new Mandovi bridges on NH-17(66) has commenced for which there is a need to close the two bridges.
