vasco: A group of people from Cortalim, Pajentar Quelossim and Kesarval met the PWD Assistant Engineer (AE) in Vasco where they complained about the irregular water supply they have been receiving for the last three months.
They mentioned that for several years they never had a water shortage problem and questioned why this problem has surfaced in the last three months.
They further submitted a memorandum to the PWD office and requested the department to immediately resolve this crucial problem which people have been facing, that includes during festive periods.
PWD AE Vishwambar Bhende said the work of laying new 90 metre water pipeline at the Cortalim road stretch is in progress and that the testing work of this line is ongoing. He added that it should be completed within a month’s time and once that happens, the additional water supply could be given to the affected areas of Cortalim and that then those people won’t have water shortage problems.
Bhende also mentioned that based on the request from the public that had met him; he will be visiting the areas where there is low water pressure and related problems.
“We will have to see whether there is any problem and if there is some local problem, which could be solved. Along with my engineer, I will inspect the areas on January 1," he added.
