Chimbel opposition panch members oppose PDA
Conflict is brewing at Chimbel following parts of the area were included in the Greater Panaji Planning and Development Authority (PDA) with five opposition panch members on Monday completely going against this decision while also demanding resignation of the Sarpanch from the PDA committee.

Addressing the media, Panch Member, Sanjay Chopdekar said “We five Panch members completely oppose Chimbel areas being included in Greater Panaji PDA. Also we demand that Sarpanch to should resign too from PDA appointed Committee. We have been elected by our people and we will go with their decision”
He said “We have not been taken into consideration before going ahead with such a massive decision neither we have been told about the pro’s and con’s about the inclusion of certain parts of Chimbel under the PDA”
He further said that some people during the fortnightly meeting have made some statements against us for political gains in which they have claimed that all five of us have taken certain amount of money for supporting PDA which is completely false.
“We want to make our stand clear that we oppose the PDA and that neither of us have taken any money for supporting the inclusion of certain villages under PDA, if they feel we have done so they should prove it. We are with the people” he added
Meanwhile, Merces Village Panchayat members also landed their support to the St Cruz as well as Chimbel villagers in their fight to oppose its areas being included in to Greater Panaji PDA.
“There are certain political leaders who want to take political mileage from the PDA issue. Merces is not included under the PDA but we will support our neighbouring Panch members in opposing certain village areas under the PDA” said MGP block President of St Cruz Constituency and Merces Panch member Prakash Naik
