PANJIM: Residents of the capital city, Panjim are complaining that they have to go sleepless night due to round the clock construction work being carried out at the Captain of Ports jetty for a new terminus.

Goa Citizens Action Forum, Flynn Remedios speaking to media persons said "Round-the-clock construction work, including the use of gas-cutters and other heavy construction machinery even late into the night and into the wee hours of the morning, is giving residents of Panjim sleepless nights."

He further said that the construction work is being carried out on the new Terminal Building at the Captain of Ports Jetty and is handled by the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation.

According to Remedios, the residents of Panaji have filed several complaints with the Panaji police station, but the cops are helpless as the CoP seems to have the requisite permissions and beat marshals who have been sent by the duty officers at Panjim police station on several occasions, have returned unable to take any action as the site supervisors on duty flash a huge file of permissions.
