MARGAO: Worried about losing their land and buildings, the migrants of Pedamol have started running to the politicians to try and get a NOC allowing them to continue the occupation of this land.

A similar meeting happened at Shrivoi on Thursday night wherein the newly elected Panch Vivek Shetkar was urged by a gathering of the people to find a solution. The people are worried of losing their shelter, after the government decided to demolish 100 illegal structures in Pedamol village, which mushroomed here at an unimaginable pace.

Sources said that the families from Pedamol have approached a MLA from South Goa and have pleaded for help. Further it is known that the MLA has denied any help to the people which has shocked them to the core.

The Deputy Collector Prashant Shirodkar has held hearings but this exercise faded over time.
