PANJIM: In the ongoing tussle between Town and Country Planning Minister Vishwajit Rane and Leader of the Opposition Michael Lobo over the issue surrounding the zone change, the former has alleged that people were threatened into converting and selling their land.
“People have received threats, been compelled to sell their lands, and had their properties turned into orchards and open spaces," he said in one of his tweets posted on Sunday.
Though the minister did not name Lobo, he maintained that the illegalities of people in high holding positions would be exposed as the investigation in this matter by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) (Land Grab) is still in process.
