PANJIM: The North Goa District Administration on Wednesday assured to take action against an illegal stone quarrying business at Chimbel, following a complaint filed by Congress. 

A delegation of Goa Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (GPYCC) led by Varad Mardolkar met North Goa Collector R Menaka, IAS, alleging illegal stone quarrying in Chimbel. 

The party said that the Chimbel panchayat has not given permission for the quarry, which has been resorting to blasting, due to which the locals are facing problems.

The collector said that the complaint would be examined and action would be taken if it is found to be violating the rules.
