Police secure venue of Roseferns’ tiatr show

Tiatrist Roy De Chinchinim complains of assault

MARGAO: As the Roseferns Tiatr and the controversial kantar are set to be staged in Ravindra Bhavan on Thursday, the police have kept a close eye on the venue to avoid any unruly activity. 

Complaints and cross complaints have already been filed by both the parties in this case. However, in the run up to the staging of the tiatr that includes the kantar of Francis de Tuem, there has been yet another incident of a Tiatrist being attacked by unknown persons has been reported by Tiatrist Roy De Chinchinim. 

The Tiatrist has his play in a few days time that includes political songs. He was assaulted while returning home after distributing tickets for his show. The Tiatrist has filed a complaint that he was stopped at Rajee Honda junction at Nuvem by unknown persons and caught by his shirt and tore it and then threatened him with dire consequences if he staged his tiatr. The motorcycle which was used for the alleged activity was without a number plate.

The police have registered a non cognizable complaint and are investigating the case. Tiatrists have condemned the intimidating tactics against Tiatr fraternity and have vowed to continue staging their shows. They have also praised the Margao police for not letting the alleged supporters of Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco succeed in stopping the play.
