PONDA: After the Bombay High Court at Goa directed the concerned departments of State government to ensure that major roads in the State are pothole free within the next four weeks, Pondaites welcomed the Court verdict and heaved a sigh of relief and hoped the roads in Ponda would also be repaired soon.

Viraj Sapre, who raised his voice against the deteriorating condition of roads in Ponda, said that the KTC bus stand had developed craters since last year and the PWD failed to keep up to its word and repair the road till date.

“This is an inter-State bus stand besides people take the same road to the RTO office. The PWD officials as usual say that the estimate for repairs is

forwarded to the government and we are waiting for approval,” said Sapre and added that the Dag Ponda road also needed major repairs and it was bumpy and dangerous.
