MAPUSA: Shailesh Mapari, a murder convict, undergoing lifetime imprisonment at Colvale Central Jail, died of heart attack on Monday.
Sources informed that on Monday morning, Mapari complained of not feeling well and the jail authorities rushed him to North Goa District Hospital, Mapusa where the doctor on duty declared him brought dead.
Sources informed that on Sunday night, Mapari had told his fellow prisoner that he was not feeling well and said that he would feel better after taking a nap.
It may be recalled that Mapari was found guilty of killing Sagar Chodankar. On September 1, 2004, Mapari had stabbed Chodankar to death with knife at Madhalawada, Assonora and was convicted to lifetime imprisonment in 2006. Mapari was 23 years old when he committed the murder.
