PANJIM: A resident of Quepem Sidharth Velip has threatened to approach the High Court given that Supreme Court judgement directions regarding Open Universities and Distance Universities are not being followed.
Velip along with others like Pravin Misal from Sanguem, Nikita Naik from Shiroda and Prashila Gawas from Sattari have written to an autonomous college asking how a candidate from the Open University was selected for the post of Librarian Grade-1 instead of other candidates who had a Masters degree in Library and Information Science from the Goa University.
Their contention is that the Supreme Court had issued an order stating that no Open University and Distance University candidate should be appointed and promoted for the post of Grade-1 Officer throughout India.
