PANJIM: Several parts of Goa continued to receive rain on Friday owing to a trough in the Arabian Sea, which now runs up to south Gujarat. In an unexpected experience, there was a hailstorm in certain areas of Assolda-Quepem and Farmagudi in Ponda.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa Observatory said that from Saturday the weather would be normal with no rain, even as parts of North and South Goa witnessed rains accompanied by thunderstorms.

IMD said that a trough from North Kerala, now running up to south Gujarat and the circulation over central Maharashtra, continued to persist even on Friday. “However, there is no weather warning for next five days from Saturday,” IMD said.
