MARGAO: The work of proposed reconstruction of South Goa Planning and Development Authority's (SGPDA) wholesale fish market is in the pipeline, and the tender in this regard will be issued very soon, said Chairman and Nuvem MLA Wilfred D'Sa.

Speaking to the media soon after the monthly meeting of SGPDA on Tuesday he also informed that PDA will give concessions to the traditional carpenters upon the request of All Goa Carpenters Association.

"PDA had received a letter from the carpenters association to give concessions with regard to the space at the traditional fair, and we have agreed to do so. Carpenters have cited the reason of Covid pandemic," said D'Sa.

Wilfred said that the work of proposed reconstruction of the wholesale fish market will be taken under the central fund.

"PDA will initiate the tendering process of the work in the next few days of time. We have already signed the Memorandum of Understanding," he stated.

He further refuted the allegation of Margao Wholesaler Traders with regard to not maintaining proper cleanliness at the market.

He further said the cleanliness and repairs of gutters of the PDAs retail markets will be initiated in the next couple of days.
